Data driven design

Having conducted research and developed a comprehensive brand platform for DePauw University, Neustadt Creative Marketing turned its focus to creative implementation. We developed a new institutional identity system consisting of a logo, fonts, and colors. Then we applied it. We produced a seven-publication admissions marketing program, a college magazine, and an annual fund brochure.

DePauw wanted a holistic approach. In terms of the audiences for these pieces, internal were as important as external. And, with a capital campaign in the offing, alumni and donors were as important as prospective students.

NCM’s ability to work cross-platform – our expertise with interactive as well as traditional print solutions – was key to rolling out the new institutional identity and reaching target audiences. With our sister company, Door No. 2, we took a comprehensive approach to the interactive work. We designed and programmed a virtual tour and re-architectured, redesigned, and rebuilt the institution-wide site on the highly user-friendly BigTree CMS.

The entire project, from the day we started the research to the launch of the final components, took 13 months. Now DePauw has its brand strategy implemented across all platforms and reaching internal and external audiences. DePauw will now move ahead boldly with the strength that comes from a research-based brand strategy soundly and comprehensively applied.
