Tufts Breaks Admissions Records for Class of 2017

When Tufts had its most selective year ever in 2012, with an acceptance rate of 21 percent, we knew it was only the beginning. We had teamed up with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions on two exciting new projects that had the power to make Tufts even more desirable. (Read the case study.)

In terms of the college market, Tufts occupies a rare sweet-spot. While others claim to have the best of a liberal arts college atmosphere with all the benefits of a major research university, at Tufts, the claim is true. A made-over website, with design and static content produced by Door No. 2, leaves room for the personalities of Tufts' approachable team of admissions officers to shine through in images and blog posts. A thrice-yearly magazine, JUMBO, speaks to the college-seeking high school junior or senior in a way that no biennial viewbook ever could.

So, no, we were not surprised to learn that Tufts had another historic, record-busting year in 2013, with an 11 percent rise in applications over 2012. But we are still in awe.
